In short: Group the failed items by trade, book the repairs, then confirm them with a return visit or written evidence. The listing waits until every standard is met.
Read the report by trade
Each failed standard comes with a photo and a plain fix. Sort them into handyman items such as latches, door strikes and anchors, plumbing items such as leaks and missing hot water, and anything that needs an electrician or a structural engineer.
Most fixes are small
In a Rockbank house the failures are usually quick: a door that will not latch, a winder handle that has come loose, a blind chain with no anchor. A handyman can often clear several in one visit.
Some need a specialist
A crack in render or a ceiling stain can point to something bigger. Where the report recommends a structural engineer or a plumber, get that advice before patching anything.
Confirm before you advertise
Since 25 November 2025 a rental must meet the standards before it is listed. A return visit gives you written confirmation that each failed item is now met, which is useful if a renter questions it later.
